Acticare Wins Prestigious CSS Award for Multi-Service Supply Excellence

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Acticare has won a significant service award at the 2025 Care Sector Supplier Awards. The award was given for the Multi-Service or Multi-Channel Supplier and is recognition for the excellent results of our ongoing long-term relationship with the St Monica Trust, a registered charity that provides a unique blend of retirement villages, specialist care homes and support for older people in the South West.

This accreditation is a significant achievement for the team at Acticare and is a testament to our comprehensive product range and efficient service, as well as our dedication to setting the benchmark for care home excellence with sustainable and efficient, collaborative solutions.

A Relationship Built on Shared Values

When the St Monica Trust needed a better, greener, more economical supplier‚ Acticare was the answer. The partnership was based on mutual values as well as dedication to superior quality, operational transparency, and environmental responsibility.

Before working with Acticare, the Trust experienced many of the same challenges as the rest of the care sector: unpredictable stock supply, a surplus of product lines, high wastage of plastic and increasing costs. We’ve addressed all these issues head-on using the Acticare 5-Step Process, our proven framework to facilitate genuine change in a care setting.

Tangible Results That Raise Standards

We started with a comprehensive audit of St Monica Trust’s cleaning practices and products. From there, we submitted a simplified greener range of products with a straightforward hygiene manual, supported by in-person training. After the first successful trial phase, we deployed the new system to all four of their homes.

Here are the results:

  • Substantial savings across laundry, nursing and cleaning consumables over several product lines.
  • Significant reduction in high-impact waste, such as a reduction in the use of plastics.
  • Improved quality care home environments, with consistent standards of cleanliness and happier staff and residents.
  • Consolidated range with fewer, higher-quality products, focused on reusability and lower consumption.
  • Confident, empowered care teams with a reliable supply and expert training.

As one of their senior team members said, “One new chemical replaced two or three old chemicals”, reflecting our ongoing commitment to reduce waste and raise standards.

More Than Just Products

This award recognises the effectiveness of our multi-service model, which includes the supply of the essential housekeeping consumables, equipment and furniture. In addition, excellent product knowledge and training, along with our unique proven reporting and analysis, provide ongoing transparency of costs.

We are also proud that our work with St Monica Trust fulfils wider sustainability aims. Through collaborations like this, we aid our clients in both lowering their environmental footprint without raising the cost of care.

Looking Ahead

Receiving this award is a wonderful recognition of the hard work and passion of our team. It’s a testament to what can be achieved when like-minded companies, with a shared vision for change in the care sector, collaborate and come together to shape something with real potential to drive change. We are grateful to the St Monica Trust for their trust and cooperation and the CSS Awards for acknowledging our work.

If you’re ready to raise standards in your homes while improving sustainability and cutting costs, we’d love to speak to you.
