From Start to Finish – A Brilliant Day at the Wheelie Big Cycle

On Sunday, the 28th September, cyclists from across Herefordshire took to the roads for this year’s Wheelie Big Cycle and what a fantastic day it was!

The event brought together riders of all abilities to take on one of four scenic routes through the beautiful Herefordshire countryside. From gentle family rides to the full 55-mile challenge, which was the most popular distance of the day, every route showcased the spirit of teamwork, determination, and community that makes this event so special.

Proud to Support a Worthy Cause

As proud sponsors, Acticare was delighted to support St Michael’s Hospice, a charity that provides compassionate care for people across Herefordshire and beyond. The Hospice’s work makes a real difference to families during life’s most challenging moments, and we were honoured to play a part in helping raise vital funds for their services.

We also supplied all the bottled water for the event’s refreshment stations, helping riders stay hydrated throughout their journey. From the smiles we saw at the finish line, we’re pleased to report it went down a treat!

Community Close to Home

With the start and finish line at The Shell Store, just around the corner from our head office, the event felt especially close to home. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces and local supporters coming together for such an inspiring cause.

A big thank you goes out to everyone who participated, volunteered, and helped with set-up and support on the day. Your enthusiasm and hard work made all the difference.

Making a Big Impact, Together

Events like the Wheelie Big Cycle remind us how powerful community action can be. When local businesses, volunteers, and residents come together, great things happen, not just for one day, but for the ongoing work that charities like St Michael’s Hospice do every day of the year.

We’re proud to have played a small part in such a big effort, and we look forward to supporting more local initiatives that make a positive impact where it matters most.
